Every now and then I organize a Minishoot day, where people can book a shoot of 45 minutes at a reduced rate. In this blog post I would like to tell you all about how and why I organize these Minishoot days and what you can expect when you've booked a minishoot.
This was already the third time I worked with model Julie De Wilde. I always enjoy working with her. She is very professional, very patient and very sweet and honest. I never worked with make-up artist Elke Herssens before, but I was amazed by her professional skills and lovely personality (which, I think, is maybe even the most important thing when working together), so this will certainly not be the last time. We had a very long and fun day together on the 25th of october. Here you can find some of the backstage pictures (especially of Elke applying the make-up) and soms of the results!
Well, as you might know, I love to experiment a bit every now and then. So, I bought a projector and asked Julie (a model I worked with once) and Alisa ('my' make-up artist) if they would like to experiment with me on using projections of different patterns and colours. They we're very enthusiastic about the idea so we set a date and went for it. This editorial got published in the october issue of PENIDA Magazine and part of it got published in the november issue of MARIKA Magazine.
A few weeks ago Alisa Acx and I had a shoot again with the lovely Amélie. The shoot took place in the beautiful and varied Citadel park in Ghent. If you're curious to see the pictures and the 'behind the scene's' shots, read further!
Maybe you have wondered when seeing my prices, or those of other photographers, 'Why does a photo shoot cost so much money?'
I have heard the question many times myself. Someone once even said to me "Why do ruin it for yourself? With those prices you won't get any customers at all." or "Why does it have to cost so much? You just take some pictures, don't you? For 100 euros per hour?!"
Have you ever asked these questions yourself? Be sure to read on to get a comprehensive answer.
Melek her mom booked her a all-in-one portfolio shoot which took place in july. This package contains a 6 hour shoot (but this one took 8 hours, and when this happens I don't charge extra) in studio ánd on various locations nearby. Melek did a wonderful job! The young aspiring model Elise booked a portraitshoot on location. Alisa Acx, my go-to make-up artist was booked as well! She gave her a beautiful, neutral make up look and then we decided which outfits Elise would wear. There is a bohemian vibe as well as a more fairytale-kinda vibe. On the 26th and 28th of June I had fashionshoots with many kidsmodels around the docks in Ghent. It was very warm, windy but fun and I met a lot of new models who I haven't worked with before. Here you can see some backstage pictures and a few results!
A selection of my work (artistic portraits) will be exhibited in beauty lounge OMORFIA, Hoogstraat 50 in the heart of Antwerp.
You can visit it every day except tuesday from 11h till 19h, untill februari.
Together with a beautiful Congolese model from Amsterdam, Debby Kundenga, and my make-up artist Alisa Acx, I made a very colorful fashion editorial. We worked both in studio and on a simple and sober location nearby my appartment in Ghent. If you are interested in the results (and the brands we worked with), you should read further!
On my blog I write about the process of improving my skills, about grabbing every chance I get to become more experienced and about learning from ups and downs. Besides that, I write about everything that inspires me, like film, photography, paintings and psychology.
