Mike Leigh is an English writer and director of film and theatre. He really has his own way of filmmaking, which makes his characters and story lines very recognisable and realistic. I really like movies about everyday characters and the little things in life that make it all so hard. The following films from Mike Leigh are fantastic and really worth seeing! 'Secrets and Lies'One of my favorite movies of all time is definitely 'Secrets and Lies' from Mike Leigh. The first time I saw it, I found that the first thirty minutes were kind of boring, but the second time I saw it, I was touched, impressed and amused from the very beginning till the very end. I love the themes, the interaction between the characters and the way it all feels so realistic and confronting. 'Vera Drake'This movie tells the story about Vera Drake, a working-class woman in London in the 1950's. She performs illegal abortians. The film was a critical success and won several awards. 'All or Nothing'This film revolves around three different working-class families and their everyday lives. 'Another year'This film shows the life of different people in the four seasons of a year. It is very apparent, occasionally a bit painful and sometimes very endearing. So... are you going to see these? :)

BLOGOn my blog I write about the process of improving my skills, about grabbing every chance I get to become more experienced and about learning from ups and downs. Besides that, I write about everything that inspires me, like film, photography, paintings and psychology.
