Okay.... So I'm a bit ashamed to tell you this, but there hasn't been much art journaling going on the past month. Therefore, I don't have much to show you.
It began so well, the first days of february, but then I was too busy with other things, couldn't find the time, or forgot to bring my artjournal kit along. And if I did take it with me, I didn't have the time for it, or I just didn't feel like painting.
I started painting the forest on the right, did it a bit quickly as you can see. The one on the left I thought was kind of cool! I thought of painting it again, but on a big canvas, but then the woman would get strangled by the trees roots. Unfortunately, Niels, my boyfriend, thinks it's too disturbing to hang it on the wall. What do you think?

My colleague wanted me to make a painting for her new apartment. She showed me an image on Pinterest which she wanted me to copy, but with her face instead and a slightly different turban.. So I made a testversion in my art journal before going crazy on a canvas. I'm currently making the real deal, which is much harder to do then this small one was.
I made the elephant during my lunchbreak at work. I thought it would fit nicely with the painting of my African colleague.

I was on the train home from work, and wanted to paint, but didn't know what. I then decided to make a painting of a picture of myself, I found on my phone. It doesn't look like me at all, I guess, but that's okay. :-)

When I arrived home and sat down at my desk in my art studio, my cat Louis jumped on my desk and sat in front of me. He really looked at me like he was saying: "Paint me like one of your French girls", or something. To not disappoint him - or to let him think he's not cute enough - I made a painting of him as well. Doesn't look like him, but then again: that's okay.

A while ago, I'd promised my other colleague that I would make a painting for her new apartment. This would be a painting of her pug, named Simba, in a bunny costume.
Since a couple of weeks, this same collegue, has added two cute little rabbits to her household, so I thought it would be funny to make a painting of the three of them: Simba wearing the pink bunny costume, being 'undercover' among the little rabbits. I made a test of this as well in my art journal. Good thing I did, cause when I finished, my collegue said that she didn't like the flowers as much as she expected. So when I paint this on a canvas I will make the background look more like a street with pedestrians in the background.

I only made the owl to fill up the page next to the pug and the rabbits. Don't have anything to say about it.
Which painting did you like the most? Would you have done anything differently yourself? Let me know in the comments below! :-)

On my blog I write about the process of improving my skills, about grabbing every chance I get to become more experienced and about learning from ups and downs. Besides that, I write about everything that inspires me, like film, photography, paintings and psychology.
